Paper Bag Monsters...EEK!

Ah, bizarro armless crotch mouthed giant paper bag costumes...how do I love thee?  Let me count the ways!  I think there are at least 7 ways, but I'll have to get back to you on that later.

When I flipped the page to these images I screamed in horror!  Yet, somehow these funktacular paper bag costumes with vague notions of Mr. Potato Head gone horribly wrong have grown on me, like a fungus or a creeping vine.  Alas, we no longer have paper bags like these from the cleaners, but a roll of kraft paper will work well here.   That is if you can not live another moment without making yourself a Paper Bag Monster costume.  This came from McCall's Needlework and Crafts from 1969-70 and there is even more craftacular goodness to be discovered in these pages, so do stay tuned.

  1. I used a large brown paper grocery bag to make a costume for my 7 year old grandson last Halloween. He wanted to be an airplane "barf bag" so I used a real barf bag from the airlines as a guide, so to speak! It came out fantastic & he has kept it to use again!
