Nordic Knits! Hooray!

Nordic Knit Skirts from 1969-10 McCall's Needlework and Crafts!
McCall's Needlework and Crafts 1969-70

Hello Dahlings!

I am simply mad for these skirts!  Aren't they divine with tights and patent leather pilgrim ankle booties?!  Good lord, those shoes!  What?!  Wait, let me use three more exclamation points!!!

I adore the color combo on the top skirt and the little girl's ensemble.  I have always had a soft spot for Nordic knits.  How about you?  Is it just me or does this young mother seem a little...dazed and confused?  Maybe she took an extra valium.  Mommy's little helper.  One hopes that poor child did eventually get the other boot on before going out in the cold.

Perhaps one day I will be able to conquer patterns like this, but for now I'm starting with basic crochet and seeing where it takes me.

Before we move on, I must emit a smallish "squee" for that hat our fearless knitter is wearing in the top photo.  The fringe around the face?!  LOVE!

Speaking of crochet, I have a giveaway on my Margot Potter blog today of TWO fab Drew Emborsky books!  So do mosey on over and leave a comment for a chance to win.  The contest winners will be announced next Tuesday, so there's plenty of time to play!

xoxo
